1. Monmouthshire County Council spent £112,125 centrally on music services this year and schools anticipated spend for this financial year is £257,340. We plan to spend a similar amount in the financial 2017-18.

2. Monmouthshire’s central funds for music services are used to commission the provision of music services from Gwent Music.

3. As we commission the service we do not employ any staff centrally.

4. During the latest financial year we provided £44,000 to our school to subsidise music services and plan to spend the same amount in financial year 2017 -18.

5. The £44,000 provided to school is transported to Gwent Music to reduce the cost of music lessons for learners at the point of delivery.

6. Currently we are not planning to provide any funding for regional or national ensembles for the coming financial year.
